Liverpool has a great tradition of queer art. It’s a tradition that includes such figures as Brian Epstein, Terence Davies, Clive Barker, Marc Almond, Chris Bernard, Holly Johnson, Pete Burns, Thomas Lang, Paul O’Grady and Gary Sollars.
In the past we have received donations from Richard Wilson, Neil Bartlett, Tom Stoppard – and from many more individuals who asked to remain anonymous.
Somewhere out there on Merseyside or on the Wirral is the new Terence Davies, the new Clive Barker or the new Chris Bernard. Outsiders can find them, support them - and show them what other queer filmmakers are up to.
At the moment we desperately need funds to pay for the safer sex education DVD we’re making – which will be freely available in the bars and clubs on Merseyside from November 2006 – and for the Teddy Scholarship, which will pay for a young, local queer filmmaker to attend the Berlin Film Festival in 2007.
You can sponsor us by donating goods and services to the festival as sponsorship in kind. Alternatively your company can become a financial sponsor of Outsiders, marketing your product to the lesbian & gay community on Merseyside.
Your logo and branding will feature in all our marketing materials and on our website. Your logo and branding will also feature in the festival trailer which will be shown in front of all our screenings from October 2006 onwards.
Don’t forget – the festival more than doubled in size in 2005. The early indications are that it will do so again in 2006. Be part of it.
Our current sponsors (thank you) are:
